Algie Meyer (b. 1990, New York) is a Northampton-based artist, educator, and trombonist primarily working in photographic abstraction, experimentation, and performance, often combining traditional darkroom techniques, alternative processes, and contemporary digital photographic methods. They began studying photography while pursuing music performance as an undergraduate student and received a Certificate of Distinguished Achievement in Photography from Hofstra University in 2012. Algie Meyer went on to receive an interdisciplinary MFA degree in Fine Arts, Studio Practice from California College of the Arts in San Francisco and participated in the AICAD Studio Residency Program in Brooklyn, NY in 2013.
